Stylish, but Not so Functional I bought this booster because it looks good with my dining table and chairs. My big complaint is the tray. I miss my cheap booster's tray that I could remove with one hand. I also don't like that the crotch guard thingy is on the tray and not on the seat. Several times my daughter has managed to fold it up and nearly slid out from under the tray. This seat is also not easy to clean, since food can get stuck between the spindles; and if your child is a messy eater like mine, you won't even use the seat pad when you realize you have to wash it after every feeding--it doesn't wipe clean. Overall, this is a high maintinence seat.
Pediatric Nurse I am a pediatric nurse for a large childrens hospital, specializing in ages 1 day-5 years. If you have a child you suspect is running a high fever, check the temp rectally. None of our docs accept tympanic "ear" temps because they are NOT ACCURATE. So many times we've gotten 101-103 temps with the ear scanner then 99-100 rectally. They won't even allow the hospital to purchase any more and have removed them from the hospital.
Hope this helps!
cute but.. it was very cute and soft but the snaps are cheap and plastic..strange. my niece wore it a few times. dont know if the snaps broke but they look weird.
We really like this carrier!!!! We have had this carrier for a month now and use it frequently and really like it.
The box and instructions suggest that your professional bike shop install this carrier and we would agree. Due to our distance to a bike shop, we ended up installing it ourselves and it was tricky. We did call a bike shop for guidance and did get it on ourselves. But if you can get free installation, we would recommend you take advantage of it.
If you are curious about the installation, you can go to the Topeak website and download the installation guide/owner's manual and see if you are up to the challenge.
Also, it would be good to read about installation before buying because this bracket will only mount to certain bikes. It is designed for bikes with seatstay rack mounts and dropout eyelets only. They also warn that it cannot be used with bikes with rear suspension or disc brakes. My husband has a Trek aluminum frame mountain bike and it does work on his bike. Again, this would be a good reason to talk to someone at a bike shop before buying.
After installation, using this carrier has been great. The carrier comes in three parts. There is a bracket that is mounted on the bike and the baby seat that can be easily removed and stored when not in use. The third part is a slide lock that attaches the baby seat to the bracket.
Our 21 month old child seems very comfortable in the carrier and it is great to use.
Our only complaint is that the Grab bar in front is tough to snap off/on. So we always just leave it on and slide our child in and out behind it.
Excellent mittens My girls (4 and 5) were always complaining about being cold - until I got these mittens. The first day they used them outside it was 20 degrees and they played with no complaints for over an hour. I was worried about the sleeves going over the jackets and wondering if snow would get in; it doesn't; the velcrow keeps it right on. The company was also extremely helpful because I ordered something else from them through a different drop-ship company; they noticed that they were mailing two orders to the same address and they proactively combined them and refunded one of the shipping charges without me even requesting it. I was thrilled with their customer service.
